A.P.C was created by Jean Touitou, he moved to France in 1960 from Tunisia where was born was and raised. Seventeen year later this brand was made. A.P.C stands for 'Atelier de production et de creation'. This brand was born from a reaction against the ostentatious fashion that was all the range in paris at the time. Jean Touitou gained experience working with creatives at Kenzo in the seventies, allowing him to gather information before starting his own fashion brand. Before A.P.C was born Touitou has many other interests for example music, he even ran his own record label for two years prior to A.P.C.
Jean Touitou had a belif that clothes should not overshadow the personality of the wearer, which meant A.P.C quickly became renowed for its simple, well tailored clothing items which were inspired by workwear. The brand is known for its minimalist designs. Its clothing features clean lines and simple patterns. Upon each garment you may notice the lack in logos designs, thats because logos are rarely visble, when looking through the items we sell here at Brother2Brother you will notice only a few items feature the branding, mainly to the front in a small yet smart lettering.
One of the brands most popular products is its jeans, available in different raw-denim styles. A.P.C jeans are popular among denim enthusiasts, as they are Japanese selvage denim but they are also, unlike the products of many companies who use denim of this quality, slim cut and fashionable. The denim also fades quickly when used, allowing denim enthusiasts to achieve a lot of wear and fading quite quickly if they wish. The fit of A.P.C clothing derives from Touitou's distaste for the loose-fitting clothes of his contemporaries. A.P.C offers men denim jacket, denim jeans, classic t-shirts, sweatshirts and also accessories. Today, the label's stylish, unnecessary features seems as appropriate as ever; while trends come and go, there is something reassuringly constant and no-nonsense about Mr Touitou's signature brand of Parisian cool.
